GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
Work closely with the Director of Financial Capability to enhance and manage the HBCU Student Prosperity Project by providing direct case management to those enrolled.
Additionally, this position will support participants' financial needs by coordinating and conducting group training, workshops, and individual financial counseling and coaching sessions to manage monthly budget, debt reduction, or elimination.
The Prosperity Centers provide integrated services that focus on improving low-to-moderate-income families and individuals to achieve financial well-being.
The Center offers individuals and families services across four core service areas:
Asset Building, Financial coaching and counseling, Access to financial support/public benefits screening, and Employment soft-skill improvement FINANCIAL CAPABILITY SPECIALIST
Essential Functions:
Program Management 1.
Manage the internal and external operations of the New Orleans Business Alliance (NOLABA) HBCU IDA Project and ensure that the desired outcomes are achieved:
Oversee support, training, and periodic evaluation for partner entities; New Orleans Business Alliance, Southern University - New Orleans, Xavier University, and Dillard University Oversee coordination and maintenance of all record-keeping and financial tracking for participants, Ensure that program compliance standards are met, including accurate and timely reporting 2.
Give updates at meetings on overall program progress, slot availability, success' and areas of improvement.

Provide monthly updates to New Orleans Business Alliance and Senior Vice President, Financial Capability 4.
Facilitate and plan post-secondary education and financial education training for participants in IDA Project 5.
Provide credit counseling and budgeting instruction during the participant's saving period 6.
Maintain a schedule of appointments for client sessions and effective/efficient systems for participant reminders & follow-up 7.
Complete the necessary paperwork to open Individual Development Accounts for participants 8.
Assist with internal and external communication related to NOLABA HBCU IDA 9.
Adhere to all guidelines related to confidentiality with sensitive financial and personal information.

Follow regulatory and quality-control requirements.
11.
Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key community partner agencies.
In addition, identify and refer participants to other resources and services needed to achieve their financial goals.
12.
Stay abreast of national, regional, and local trends, policies, best practices, and current evaluation measures to help the project reach desired outcomes.
13.
Support regional cooperation on individual and community asset-building matters while recognizing each parish's individuality and unique characteristics.
Team Support and Management:

Support, encourage, and nourish ownership of program outcomes in teammates.
15.
Organize, develop, and maintain a monthly financial education workshops calendar 16.
Provide support, as needed, to other core programs, including cross-training in other Financial Capability Initiatives Outcome Tracker:
17.
Effective utilization of the Prosperity Centers' outcome tracking system VistaShare Outcome Tracker database to track, record, and maintain participant data and records 18.
Responsible for reporting monthly program updates to Senior Vice President, Financial Capability 19.
Effectively utilize data and outcomes to drive program decisions and design in coordination with the Senior Vice President, Financial Capability.

FINANCIAL CAPABILITY SPECIALIST JOB
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in business, human services, community development, or related field with two years of experience implementing community-based education or service programs and desired outcomes.
2.
Preferred financial coaching/credit counseling certification.
3.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and respond appropriately and with discretion.
4.
Strong interpersonal and group facilitation skills, networking, and coordinating collaborative organizational activities.
5.
Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment to handle/resolve details and matters not requiring the personal attention of the supervisor.
6.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with a can-do, problem-solving orientation.
7.
Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe, and PowerPoint.
8.
Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with insurance equal to or exceeding the Louisiana minimum.
9.
Must be available to work a regular Monday-Friday work week with occasional early morning, evening, and weekend availability as needed.
10.
Unquestioned confidentiality with sensitive financial and personnel matters and issues.
