Research Nurse Manager
The Pediatric Clinical Trials Department provides services for the conduct of research to investigators throughout the Department of Pediatrics within Tulane University.
Our services include research project planning, preparation and submissions for regulatory approvals, research conduct using Clinical Research Coordinators and Clinical Research Nurses, data entry, as well full service conduct and management of multi-center trials.
The Research Nurse Manager is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, education, training and supervision of the research nursing and clinical research personnel within the department.
This position will assess staff workload and determines RN and research staff assignments, facilitate effective teamwork between research nursing and research coordinators or assistants, facilitate effective teamwork between clinical research staff and clinical staff and operations.
This role will also conduct performance appraisals for research nurses and assigned research coordinators or assistants with input from research and clinical teams.
oKnowledge of investigational therapies which require special expertise and clinical care management.
oKnowledge of clinical research practices and principles required.
oExcellent organizational skills requiredoExcellent attention to detail skills requiredoKnowledge of medical terminology requiredoFamiliar with the life cycle of a research studyoAbility to manage multiple and competing prioritiesoMust have current BLS certificationoMust maintain current licensure and certification during duration of employmentoMust have excellent time management skillsoMust have excellent oral and written communication skillsoAbility to work in a team and demonstrated interpersonal skillsoRN with current licensure required.
Must be licensed through Louisiana by date of hireoBachelor's Degree requiredoFive (5) years of nurse experience and two (2) years of experience in clinical research at an academic, government, or pharmaceutical industry environmentoMaster's Degree in related fieldoEHR experience preferredoACLS certification preferredoExtensive experience with clinical research sciences and operationsoAdditional research related certifications Recommended Skills Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Attention To Detail Basic Life Support Clinical Research Clinical Works Communication Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
