Reviews and submits PLS-stamped drawings and calculations to owners.
Assists all departments during the bidding process.
Works with Senior Layout Manager and Chief Engineer to evaluate and implement the latest survey technology and best practices.
This position works closely with the Senior Layout manager, Senior Layout Party Chiefs, and the Survey Data Technician to coordinate job setup and accurate survey data documentation.
The PLS layout manager may be required to perform the duties of a Layout Party Chief or QC Manager as required by the Senior Layout Manager and Chief Engineer.
Qualifications &
Experience:
Louisiana Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
Bachelor's Degree in construction management or related field preferred, and a minimum of 10 years of field experience in construction layout.
Proven survey-related expertise in multiple forms of heavy civil construction including bridge, industrial, heavy highway, piling, marine, and/or underground utilities.
Proficiency with Carlson Software.
Skilled in using and caring for optical and electrical surveying instruments and equipment.
Working knowledge of all current survey technologies including data collectors, total stations, robotic total stations, and GPS-based survey systems.
Must have a valid Louisiana Driver's license, and reliable transportation.
Must be able to travel as required which may include overnight and/or out-of-town travel.
May be required to work some weekends on an as-needed basis.

The employee is required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
