Job DescriptionAECOM has a position available for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support our growing Energy Business Line.
AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.
Our team provides a wide range of mechanical engineering services across markets sectors including oil and gas - upstream, midstream and downstream refining, industrial processes (chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage), carbon capture and storage, mining/bulk material handling and future and renewable fuels (such as hydrogen, renewable natural gas, biogas, green ammonia).
The successful candidate will have a high level of understanding and experience in mechanical engineering design and technology principles for process mechanical projects.
She/he will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers.
He/she will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done with an excellent attention to detail.
The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Serve as lead engineer on all size projects maintaining responsible charge of mechanical deliverables Responsible for the mechanical engineering design work on assigned projects (e.
g.
equipment specifications, pipe specifications, hydraulic modeling) Provide mentorship for the other engineers in the technical team Working with Chief Engineer to develop design schedules and budgets in support of the business development Coordination with the mechanical piping design team to direct completion of engineering drawings.
Multi-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, P&ID's, isometrics, asset and tie-in lists, orthographic, etc.
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts, and presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others Participate in project and client meetings Assist with internal and external presentations Travel to project site and meetings as needed Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies and contractors QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited college or university 8 years of relevant experience in industrial facility mechanical engineering Professional Engineer (P.
E.
) license Preferred
Qualifications:

years of experience preferred 5
yrs experience as project technical mechanical lead/mechanical engineer of record Expert familiarity with industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTMs, etc).
Expert experience with specifying mechanical equipment (e.
g.
rotating and static equipment) and piping material specifications Familiarity with diverse metallurgy Strong experience with engineering software packages:
Caesar II, Pipe-Flo (or other hydraulic modeling application), AspenTech applications and/or Applied Flow Technology applications Experience with building systems design (HVAC, central plants, fire protection) Experience executing work in 3D model environments Experience working in collaborative model environments (e.
g.
Navisworks, BIM 360) Experience with bulk material handling Strong experience leveraging laser scan or other data sets to inform design development Knowledge of typical stakeholders and be able to anticipate data requests and expectations Demonstrated experience in participating complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teams Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this role Sponsorship is available for this role All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
