Systems Engineer III

About This Role The Land Systems Ground Vehicle Engineering team has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer (SE) for our growing family of ground vehicle products.
Our teams are engaged in multiple cutting edge development programs for defense applications.
The strong candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in multiple engineering disciplines and be able to execute in both R&D and production environments.
Required experience includes hardware and/or software integration, managing requirements derivation and allocation, overseeing technical execution of engineering projects, and successfully working within a collaborative team environment.
A desire to take ownership of design efforts to integrate new technology into our vehicles is essential.
Responsibilities:
Support full-life cycle engineering design and development activities on ground vehicle programs.
Lead systems engineering tasks - including (but not limited to) requirements analysis, systems modeling (SYSML), trade studies, requirements derivation, design review support, integration planning, test, verification, risk management, and engineering analysis.
Approve the systems engineering work products of junior staff.
Prepare and present systems engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews.
Generate Statements of Work and manage outside contractor performance.
Mentor others within the work group, department, and the organization.
Generate solid Basis of Estimates and manage Earned Value for design/development cost accounts as Cost Account Manager.
Provide technical direction to engineering staff and technicians of all disciplines.
Ability to interact daily with program managers, planners, and technicians.
Drive tasks to completion independently.

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering) required; Master's Degree in Systems E ngineering preferred.
Minimum six years of experience in a systems engineering or design engineering role required, with 2 years demonstrated project leadership experience preferred.
Effective writing and presentation skills.
Customer interfacing and ability to build relationships.
Ability to work in teams and independently with minimal direction.
A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.
e.
, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Experience with DOORS, JIRA, and MagicDraw (or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
Experience in a DoD environment and model-based systems engineering are preferred.
Experience in ground vehicle design & development preferred.
oPosition requires up to 25% travel.
