Essential Roles and
Responsibilities:
Performs mechanical design calculations Assists inspection Team Leader during field inspection of systems of bridges or other structures.
Assists in writing the technical inspection reports.
Prepares detailed plans and construction documents for assigned task(s).
Performs quantity calculations (quantity take-offs) for construction documents.
Coordinates, tracks, and assists in the review of contractor submittals.
Reviews drawings and recommends necessary changes.
Research design options and document findings for Project Managers Requirements BS or BE in Mechanical Engineering Four to ten years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical systems; bridge, tunnel and/or transportation projects a plus Louisiana PE license or the ability to obtain one Familiarity with LADOTD and Government Agencies in the New Orleans area preferred Machine Design experience preferred Experience performing conditions inspection on movable bridge structures in accordance with AASHTO Guidelines and NEC Code Experience in preparation and delivery of Contract Documents including inspection reports, design drawings and specifications, and operational manuals Proficiency with MicroStation Good writing and communication skills BenefitsWe offer a professional work environment, competitive salary, benefits package, and 401(k).
