Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Mechanic for its New Orleans, LA facility.
Responsible for completing routine preventive maintenance and repair of truck and trailer auxiliary systems, excluding major engine and transmission repairs.
The primary responsibilities will be to:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as necessary on trailers and tractors
- Document/record work performed electronically on the computer
- Perform road repairs when necessary
- Perform cryogenic pump maintenance
- Perform electrical/electronic repairs and installs on tractors and trailers
- Calibrate pump discharge meters
- Minor welding and fabricating as required
Qualifications / Requirements:
- High school diploma/equivalent
- 3-5 years industrial vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair experience
- Strong mechanical background
- Ability to use computer to perform diagnostics and document work performed
- Energetic, highly motivated and well organized; self starter with strong commitment to safety
- Strong team player with ability to work well with fellow mechanics/drivers/operations personnel
- Solid work history
- Ability to drive a tractor
The following additional qualifications are desired, but not required:
- Welding knowledge and experience
- Electrical troubleshooting skills on 12 volt DC circuits
- Diesel engine troubleshooting and repair experience
- CDL (Class A)Air Products will provide all required tools.
