POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of this job under general supervision, is to work independently to provide a full range of clerical assignments of average difficulty as assigned or defined by established procedures.
POSITION DUTIES:
Clerical Duties: Performs clerical duties to ensure that patient and test information, is accurately processed, filed and easily retrievable. Keeps backlogs to a minimum. Communicates to clients: specimen requirements, current specimen availability, and status of specimen.
Clinical Duties: Transporting specimens and/or blood products: Follows Pathology's standard operating procedures for transporting specimens and/or blood products to appropriate destinations, including preparation of transport containers.
Specimen Processing: Is qualified and deemed competent to perform Pre and Post Analytical duties of Specimen Processing.
Supply Chain: Completes inventory for supplies, records receipt and reconciles discrepancies.

Skills: Provide excellent customer service with good communication skills. General knowledge of operation of office machines. Good math skills.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
