Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist (Bilingual Spanish/English Preferred)

Bilingual/Spanish/English is not required, it's preferred, however, if you indicate that you are a Spanish language speaker, at the time of interview you may be interviewed in both Spanish and English and you may be asked to write and translate documents from Spanish to English and vice versa to verify fluency. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
lead efforts to develop plans for short and long-term outreach efforts, public and stakeholder involvement and other public engagement efforts. Develop, coordinate and implement District efforts to increase awareness of Wage and Hour initiatives and activities and obtain the commitment, support, and assistance of cultural, community, and other advocacy and support organizations. Design, develop, distribute, and continually improve a comprehensive Directory of Stakeholders. Work with the National, Regional and District management, including the Regional Planning Officer and Regional Director of Enforcement, to identify opportunities for and to coordinate and implement the strategic utilization of stakeholder resources for all significant enforcement initiatives and actions. Conduct extensive research and analyses of major issues, program goals/objectives and work processes. Coordinate with officials of State labor agencies, Office of Public Affairs, Office of Public Engagement, Center for Faith Based and Community Initiatives Neighborhood Partnerships, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFCCP) and other agencies responsible for labor conditions to share information and to plan for joint enforcement actions and initiatives, stakeholder events and publications. Experience:
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or directly related to the position to be filled. For this position applicants must demonstrate 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-09 for the GS-11 and GS-11 for the GS-12) in the Federal Service. The examples of specialized experience described here are applicable to both GS-11 and GS-12, however at the GS-12 the work involves less supervision and more complexity. Examples of Specialized Experience are:
Communicating information regarding stakeholder outreach and public involvement principles on Wage and Hour policy and procedures; ensuring that the wage and hour statues, regulations, and policies are abided by, including investigations conducted to enforce Wage and Hour regulations; and interpreting and determining management techniques and skills sufficient to ensure an integrative approach to resolve problems regarding Wage and Hour policies and regulations.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
