Leasing Adjudication Assistant

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Gulf of Mexico Region (GOMR), Office of Leasing and Plans (OLP), Adjudication Section is looking for a Leasing Adjudication Assistant in Jefferson, LA. BOEM is responsible for managing the development of the nation's offshore resources in an environmentally and economically responsible way. The mission of OLP is highly specialized, national in scope with international implications, and unique to BOEM in its regulation of the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), offshore oil, gas, and Sulphur leasing. At the full performance level (GS-07) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Enters, updates, and maintains all lease administrative information in Assignment Tracking System (ATS) and Document Tracking System (DTS) on OCS leases into the BOEM database. Processes and prepares customer requests for certified copies from the Public Information Data System (PIDS). Analyzes, classifies, and indexes records for release on the BOEM website and for transfer to storage facility. Keeps records for time and attendance. Accepts, logs, and distributes incoming mail. Greets customers and responds to customers' requests in person, through email, and over the telephone. BOEM has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Salary Information GS-06:
$38,921- $50,598 per annum and GS-07:
$43,251- $56,222 per annum. First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available. This vacancy is also announced as BOEM-MMLL-21-CD-009(DEU) for those applicants who wish to apply and be considered under Competitive Examining procedures. Minimum Qualification Requirements:
GS-06 To qualify for the GS-06 grade level Applicants MUST possess ALL of the specialized experience described below, and your experience MUST be clearly written in your resume. To qualify for the GS-06, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience in ALL of the following:
Performing general administrative duties such as:
(1) Filing; (2) answering telephone inquiries and serving as the primary point of contact for office visitors; (3) data entry; and (4) handling incoming and outgoing mail for an office. GS-07 To qualify for the GS-07 grade level Applicants MUST possess ALL of the specialized experience described below, and your experience MUST be clearly written in your resume. To qualify for the GS-07, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience in ALL of the following:
Performing general administrative duties related to legal filings and/or documents filed in connection with oil and gas lease administration, such as:
(1) Typing/word processing; (2) establishing and/or maintaining a filing system; (3) data entry; and (4) handling incoming and outgoing mail for an office. Typing Requirement All applicants must be a qualified typist, able to type a minimum of 40 words per minute with fewer than three errors. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
